Before joining Avia, Dan worked across applied AI and research roles spanning industry and academia. At a stealth health AI startup, he re-architected a multi-LLM clinical reasoning pipeline into a modular, GPU-accelerated microservice stack, reducing end-to-end latency twenty-fold, and optimized large language models for production inference. As a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Southern California Information Sciences Institute, he built scalable pipelines for multilingual social media analysis and network modeling and architected a cloud-based data catalog supporting cross-domain dataset discovery. Earlier in his career, he also built a workflow orchestration platform processing more than two terabytes of data per day for over 100 clients and co-developed machine learning models for churn and lifetime value prediction.

Before joining Avia, Dijana spent more than 20 years working across data analytics and electrical engineering roles. She performed data analysis and modeling for a range of projects, including image stitching for a greenhouse operation, financial KPI analysis, power usage forecasting, Power BI dashboards, and SQL/SSIS development for a medical database. Earlier in her career, she supported engineering document management and database auditing and provided instrumentation and controls support for oil and gas projects. She also spent many years as a Researcher, Teaching Assistant, and Lab Manager with the University of Calgary’s Applied Electromagnetics Group, where she designed precision microwave measurement systems and developed algorithms and mathematical models for the electrical properties of biological tissue.
